Since the game’s Kickstarter campaign began, we’ve been following Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night with piqued interest. While the title was initially unveiled for PS4 and Xbox One, a glimmer of hope promised that Wii U owners might also see the game. That hope has not been for naught! Saturday evening, the game’s Kickstarter campaign surpassed 3 million dollars, meaning that the game will officially appear on Wii U!
The possibility of Bloodstained appearing on Nintendo’s console seemed to become more likely as time went on. Last week, Igarashi announced that developer Aramature would handle development duties on the Wii U version of Bloodstained should it see funding. Given that Aramature developed the very good Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate, which followed a bit of the Metroidvania conventions, the Wii U version seems to be in good hands!
Nintendo fans that were waiting to donate to the game’s Kickstarter campaign might find themselves more inclined to do so, now. As a result of the Wii U version seeing funding, donation rewards have been updated. A $60 donation will get fans a download of the game, while $100 will get fans a physical version along with Kickstarter-exclusive goodies!
While it’s exciting that the game is coming our way, fans probably shouldn’t get too excited just yet. The title isn’t projected to arrive on any console until March of 2017. Until then, stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops!
