At this point, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night seems to be defined by its seemingly constant delays just as much as its promises to continue creator Koji Igarashi’s vision that started with his acclaimed work on the Castlevania series. The title, which was originally slated for a 2017 release before being pushed back to 2018, has now been delayed to 2019.

Igarashi released a video update announcing the delay and citing feedback from a recent beta demo given to backers as the reason. While it’s good to hear that a developer is listening to his fans, the constant delays are no doubt frustrating to those who contributed to the game’s $5.5 million Kickstarter. However, that wasn’t the only announcement, as Igarashi also revealed they were canceling the PlayStation Vita version of the game and backers who selected this version of the game would be able to change to a different console.

Perhaps the one good thing to come from this news is that with the Vita version gone, the Switch version is now the only portable option, so that might add a few more sales to the Switch total.
