Considering the troublesome launch and poor critical reception of Might No. 9, fans of retro action-platformers might want to look to the generally well-received Azure Striker Gunvolt and its upcoming sequel. Soon, there will be options for how you get the game as well, because the previously download-only title will soon see life on a physical 3DS cartridge.
Yacht Club Games, the folks behind Shovel Knight, are teaming with developer Inti Creates to give Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 a physical release in two forms. The game will be available either by itself ($14.99) or bundled with the original in what’s being called the Striker Pack ($29.99). Either way, you can pick up your copy on September 30, 2016.
Also, anime fans might be pleased to know that the game is getting the OVA treatment this winter.
Tragically, those of you familiar with Shovel Knight’s awesome physical release will be saddened to know that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 won’t be getting a big, beautiful instruction manual like those of times long past– though more details about the game’s packaging are on the way, according to Yacht Club.
