Awesome Games Done Quick Raises $2.39 Million for Charity

And they played a lot of Nintendo games to do it!

Since 2010, Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) has worked to raise money for charity, for organizations such as Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, Organization for Autism Research, and CARE.

On January 13, AGDQ concluded its week-long, 24-hour speedrun marathon in Rockville, MD for Prevent Cancer Foundation and raised a whopping $2.39 million; the event drew more than 2200 attendees, with 219,240 viewers tuning in on Twitch.

A number of Nintendo games were on the docket for the event, including Kirby & The Amazing Mirror (GBA), Donkey Kong Country (SNES), The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (N64), and Bomberman 64 (N64), among others!
