The team at AlphaDream is known to many a Nintendo fan. Since 2003’s Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the developer has been responsible for most of Mario’s RPG outings. Unfortunately, that will change moving forward as the developer has declared bankruptcy, citing increased development costs as the culprit.
Founded in 2000, AlphaDream released five entries in the Mario & Luigi series, as well as two recent remakes. While the franchise was never known for massive sales, it maintained a fairly devout following, thanks to its offbeat sense of humor. Outside of Mario & Luigi, the developer had few other releases, with the most notable being a trio of titles centered around Hamtaro.
We at Nintendojo would like to wish the developers at AlphaDream good luck in their future endeavors.
