A very cartoonish take on the game of billiards.

Adult Swim might have made its name with strange and mature content for an audience of night owls, but they’ve recently proven their worth as a publisher of interesting titles from independent developers, as well. They’ve also been quite keen on Switch, having previously released Battle Chef Brigade. Now, the publisher has announced their next title for Nintendo’s newest hardware, Pool Panic developed by Rekim.

Pool Panic is much more than a simple simulation of the classic game. The title takes place across over 100 levels representing a variety of environments filled with sentient pool balls. As in traditional pool, you smack around the cue ball as you try to sink the eight ball. The concept is strange enough and, as the trailer shows, it gets stranger as you encounter plenty of odd scenarios and obstacles. Some of the insanity looks like it should also spill over into the game’s local multiplayer modes as well.

Pool Panic should be available sometime this year, but unfortunately a more specific time-frame has yet to be given. Hopefully we’ll hear more about this game sooner rather than later.
