The Sonic the Hedgehog film adaptation has been in development for quite a while now, but after all this time there’s been no word on who would be playing the Blue Blur himself. That’s not to say we haven’t gotten any news on who would be starring in the film. It was recently revealed that Jim Carrey will be tackling the part of Dr. Robotnik/Eggman, for instance. But Sonic? That was anyone’s guess.
Until now, that is. Word has come that Parks and Recreation star Ben Schwartz has landed the lead role of Sonic the Hedgehog. Schwartz is currently portraying Dewey in the DuckTales remake airing on Disney XD, so the actor does have some voice work under his belt to go along with his live acting.
Sonic the Hedgehog is expected to hit theaters in November of 2019 and will feature a mixture of live-action and CG.
