A Boy and His Blob first released on Nintendo Wii way back in 2009 and was a reimagining of the 1989 NES title, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia. WayForward’s 2D platformer received largely positive feedback upon release, followed by ports to numerous consoles in the years since.
The Switch will be able to count itself among those consoles, as Ziggurat Interactive and WayForward have partnered to bring A Boy and His Blob to Switch this fall.

In a press release announcing the port, Ziggurat’s Senior Vice President, Business Development Michael Devine said, “We are delighted to announce this new Switch version of the game, which is just the start of our long-term commitment to the A Boy and His Blob universe. Games like Blob only come along once in a great while and we are absolutely thrilled to continue Blob’s journey with our friends at WayForward for new and old audiences alike.” Devine’s statement seems to imply that WayForward could potentially be working on a new entry in the Blob series and perhaps other related projects, which is sure to pique the curiosity of long-time fans.
