While some have complained about a lack of major third party support on Switch, smaller publishers and developers have seized the opportunity to fill the gaps. One such company is Hamster Corporation, the current rights holders to the classic Neo Geo games. The publisher has been steadily releasing their library of classic titles week after week, and it looks like that particular strategy is working rather well.
So far, the company has released 14 games under their Arcade Archives Neo Geo label which has resulted in more than 200,000 downloads. Those numbers are likely to keep climbing as more titles will be coming to Switch, with the fiftee game, side scrolling shoot-em up Blazing Star, coming out tomorrow in North America.
Considering the fact Switch is still a young system with a relatively small user base, Hamster Corporations numbers shows there’s plenty of room for smaller companies to succeed on the system as well as a demand for arcade style fighters and shooters.
