Tip: The 75 Kremkoin Trick in Donkey Kong Country 2

Time for an old school trick from a classic Super Nintendo game. If you’ve been enjoying Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest on Nintendo Switch Online but have been scratching your head trying to find the 75 Kremkoins littered throughout the adventure, we have just the thing for you. Watch the video below and beneath it there are written instructions detailing how to get all of the coins—right in the first level!

Location: Gangplank Galleon—Pirate Panic

1. At the start of the level, there’s an entrance into Kaptain K. Rool’s ship that is easy to overlook (much like the start of Donkey Kong Country where you can enter the cave that housed DK’s Banana Hoard). Enter but don’t touch the floating scroll or the 1-up balloon behind it. Exit the ship.
2. Head right, carefully avoiding the first two bananas on the ground in front of you. Proceed until you spot a Klomp clomping around on top of some barrels with a bunch of bananas levitating overhead. Snag the bananas and head back to the interior of the ship, again avoiding the two bananas right outside the entrance.
3. Once inside, hop over the scroll and grab the 1-up ballon. Jump once more over the scroll and exit the ship.
4. Repeat the process: jump over the bananas, take the bunch of bananas from where the Klomp is, return to the interior of the ship while leaping over the duo of bananas on the ground one final time.
5. Once inside, a Kremkoin will appear over the scroll… except it isn’t just one, it’s a bundle of 75!

After completing the trick, the game’s Lost World, accessible via paying the toll at Klubba’s Kiosk, will now be open in its entirety as you progress through the game because you’ll have all the coins you’ll need to proceed. You can continue to play the Bonus Levels as you get through the game, but they’re totally unnecessary at this point.
