Yeah, I was up early this morning following the news. There was some really cool stuff, especially the HarmoKnights game from Game Freak. I hope that makes its way to other regions soon.

Even though Noah’s ahead of me in playing the Layton games, I’m a huge fan too. We’ll definitely have to talk about his saga coming to an end on the next podcast.

Thanks for commenting sketdansuu! You hit the nail on the head as to what reveal from that conference would get me. The Layton news! I don’t want to spoil the dialogue before next week’s show too much, but I am of two minds on it.

But I’m going to have to sleep in my top hat tonight first.

Whoah whoah WHOAH! N64 had a lackluster last year? Were we playing the same N64? Conker, Majora’s Mask, Paper Mario, Banjo Tooie, Kirby 64, Bomberman 64, and if yoy lived in Japan, Animal Crossing. All of these came out within a year of Gamecube’s launch. You’d best be watching your mouth Evan!
Anyhoo, I have a bit of Nintendo Trivia for you! Which TWO characters from the Smash Bros Brawl roster sport Nintendo’s name on their person? For bonus points, name WHERE it can be found!
Aside from that, I don’t wanna be left out of le anniversary, I’ll be sending in some audio too! Provided I remember before its too late …

Hey all. I am new to all of this. Nice heartcast. I always look forward to listening. Your optimistic, yet critical view on nintendo games is a breathe of fresh air. Anyways, thanks for talking about The Last Story a little bit. I am interested in the game and you noticing similarities between this and the mass effect series makes me wanna try it more. I am not a fan of standard rpg’s (besides pokemon) and their turn based battles. I thought mass effect had a good blend of controlling your own movements such as shooting with strategy elements, like setting up your party members attacks and such. Can you elaborate for me just how far the last story goes either way? Like when aiming the cross bow is it done with the wii pointer controls?, that would be awesome! and what about slashing, do they automatically do it when you reach an enemy or do you do it yourself? Thx guys for the great work. keep it up!

In the Last Story’s default controls, characters attack automatically, BUT there is a control scheme that actually lets you use buttons to attack. I think you can use the pointer for the crossbow, but seeing as the best control schemes use the classic controller, you’ll probably be using the analog stick.
