9) Super Guide Donkey Kong
First Appearance: Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii, 2010)
Everyone’s favorite gorilla turned silvery-white, sported a blue tie, and became invincible if players died enough times in Donkey Kong Country Returns as part of the game’s Super Guide feature. Donkey Kong’s signature look gave way to this pseudo-inverted take, and it was quite the impressive color palette swap. The only drawback is that the player has to be doing awful in order to see it, meaning it was never a good thing when this look made an appearance. Still, Super Guide DK remains a cool take on the character.
