One might think that an art book, of all things, would manage to hit its release date on time, but when we’re talking about anything related to video games, delays, sadly, are all too common. Such is the fate of Nintendo and Dark Horse’s latest collaborative effort, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai, an art book which was supposed to hit stores on October 20, 2026. Alas, it has been pushed back to March 30, 2026. Here’s what Dark Horse had to say about the delay:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai will launch March 30, 2027. Thank you for your patience as we prepare the highest standard of quality that you have come to expect and deserve.

It sucks, but will likely be worth the wait if Dark Horse’s previous Nintendo books, in particular its range of Zelda titles, is anything to go off of. If you need a refresher, here’s what The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai has in store for you:
Start your journey with Secrets of the Zonai. Pore over 50 pages of beautiful illustrations, character art, and promotional images. Then, dive into nearly 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches, notes, rough designs, concept art, and recollections that provide an exclusive look at the development and creation of the game. Next, travel back to a time before the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, with over 80 pages of Hyrule’s history that include insights into the mysterious past of the Zonai all the way up to the events of the game. Finish your quest with interviews with the legends behind this most recent entry of The Legend of Zelda: Producer Eiji Aonuma, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa!
It’s a dream for fans of Tears of the Kingdom, certainly, as well as an invaluable resource for budding game designers. Be sure to give it a pre-order from a local bookseller if you’re interested.
