Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergade was an astounding port on Nintendo Switch 2 that ran like a dream and allowed a whole host of Nintendo diehards to experience one of the best RPGs ever made in all its glory. Now, the sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is growing close to its June 3, 2026 release date and Square Enix has decided it’s time for a free demo to whet your appetite.
Head into the eShop right now and you can get to playing. This demo includes Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the full game, with your progress carrying over once you’ve purchased Rebirth in its entirety, as is often the case. Not only that, but pre-orders are also open and you can look forward to the following depending on which version of the game you’re buying:
- Digital Edition
- Standard – Includes the Magic Pot Summoning Materia, Accessory: Reclaimant Choker, Armor: Orchid Bracelet, digital artbook and mini-soundtrack.
- Digital Deluxe Edition – Includes the Standard edition bonuses, plus the Moogle Trio Summoning Materia, Posh Chocobo Summoning Materia, Armor: Shinra Bangle Mk. II and Armor: Midgar Bangle Mk. II.
- Physical Edition – Those who pre-order the physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition of FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will receive one Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Zack Fair card featuring variant art by Tetsuya Nomura, while supplies last.
If you played Remake, odds are good you’ll want to see the next part of the epic unfold. Square Enix has also confirmed that part three of the FFVII trilogy will be on Switch 2, so definitely consider getting Rebirth so that you can be all caught up once the finale drops.
