Square Enix continues to support Nintendo consoles with a range of RPGs. Alongside The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, it was also revealed last week that a new installment in the Octopath Traveler series is on the way—and it will be hitting Nintendo Switch 2 a lot sooner than you might be expecting. This winter, fans will be able to partake in the prequel adventure Octopath Traveler 0. Take your first look at the game in this trailer:
Here’s what Nintendo says about Octopath Traveler 0:
Start from zero in a personal quest of restoration and retribution! In this prequel to the first OCTOPATH TRAVELER, journey to stop powerful villains using fast-paced, turn-based combat. For the first time in the series, play through the eyes of your own custom protagonist and rebuild your hometown.
Octopath Traveler 0 will have over 30 recruitable party members and all-new features alongside returning core elements like HD-2D graphics and the Break & Boost battle system. The game will be hitting both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on December 4, 2025.
