Nintendo TVii Service Shutting Down August 11

All related Miiverse communities will be shut down, as well.

Nintendo will be shutting down Wii U’s Nintendo TVii feature, the company announced today via Miiverse. Both the service and its corresponding Miiverse community will be discontinued on August 11 at 3 PM Pacific Time.

Nintendo TVii attempted to integrate cable and Wii U’s various video services into one social application. Through Nintendo TVii, Wii U owners could find and keep track of their favorite television programming, as well as post Miiverse and Twitter comments about them using the console’s GamePad controller.
