Ah summer! Sun, sea, sand and… Super Mario Bros. (What were you thinking we were going to say? Shameful…) While these months of warm weather/torrential rain (delete as appropriate) aren’t traditionally associated with gaming, a boatload of brilliant games are planting their beach umbrellas and unrolling their garish towels before the end of July, allowing us to ogle/play them while the rest just sizzle.
Alternatively, if you’re one of those incredibly pale people who risks bursting into flames if they come contact with sunlight (y’know gingers, vampires and nerds) then June and July have plenty to keep you occupied. From the eventual release of Pikmin 2 on Wii in the US to JRPG treats such as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Pokémon Conquest, Heroes of Ruin and the hotly-anticipated The Last Story, Nintendo fans are positively spoiled for choice. Now the hard part, picking your favourite.
In this week’s poll we ask you which summer release you’re most looking forward to. From Olimar and Pikachu to Sora, Final Fantasy’s jukebox adventure or even the critically lauded The Last Story (we loved it!) there’s plenty to choose but only one can come out on top. Pick your favourite in the poll and then tell us why in the comments below! (If we neglected to include your most-anticipated title then be sure to set us straight there too.)
