Here’s some good news for Wii U sales, which have floundered in the UK for a while now. The United Kingdom Interactive Entertainment sales charts from the week of March 18 are out, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is in the top ten, number seven to be exact. While it’s not crazy good, it’s a respectable achievement for a third party exclusive title for a Nintendo console. The only other Wii U game in the top 40 was Nintendo Land, pretty close to the bottom.

To break down the versions of MH3U by platform: 55% are 3DS version sales and 45% are Wii U version sales. Of particular note is that these UK sales do not account for online purchases, just physical. This means that actual sales figures of MH3U may be a bit larger.

This goes to show that if good games are released for Wii U, they’ll sell. Get on board, publishers! As more Wii U games actually get released in the coming weeks, hopefully we can expect them to appear on the charts as well.
