Fighting fans rejoice, as it was revealed over the weekend that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The game is already available on Steam, but fans have been clamoring for R.E.V.O. to come to more systems ever since it launched back in January of this year. Here’s the announcement, which comes at about the 6:27 mark in the below video:
Alas, there is no release date just yet, but at least fans know it’s coming. R.E.V.O. is a remake of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown which originally launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 a thousand years ago in 2007. This updated game will feature rollbacl netcode as well as cross-play between Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. R.E.V.O. boasts a balance update (the first in over a decade) and SEGA is promising “multiple additional content updates are currently in the works.”
Thrilling stuff for Virtua Fighter fans, certainly. As soon as we have a firm release date, we’ll let you all know. In the meantime, tell us if you’re itching for a fight in R.E.V.O. down in the comments and on social media!
