Nintendo has revealed that they have big plans for your Nintendo Network ID; someday you’ll be able to sign onto it on your PC, use it with smartphone and tablet applications, and maybe even link it up with your 3DS.
Unfortunately, this is the future we’re talking about. As it stands right now, any Network ID you create on your Wii U will be locked to that specific console, and there’s no way to transfer it or access it on another person’s system. In other words, cherish your Wii U as though it were an especially fragile child unless if you are okay with losing all your saved progress.
