Two former devs from Capcom are collaborating together to form a new studio. Hideaki Utsumi and Saori Utsumi, announced on September 8, 2024 via X their new game development studio. Though the Utsumi coupe has not given much information yet upon the announcement, they are currently working on an upcoming game for Nintendo Switch.
Here is what was posted from their X account below:
Hideaki Utsumi worked with Capcom as a sound designer and composer. His work included games such as Resident Evil 1, 2, and 5, as well as Devil May Cry, El Dorado Gate Series and much more. He also met his partner, Saori Maeda, at Capcom as a fellow composer. Saori’s contributed her work to Resident Evil 5, Mega Man Xtreme, and Bounty Hunter Sara. Together. the Utsumi couple will be contributing the roles as game designers, sound designers, and composers at Birdkin Studio.
We can’t wait to see what Birdkin Studio has in store for us. We will keep you updated with more to follow upon release with the Utsumi’s.
