There just haven’t been many indie success stories quite like Shovel Knight. Yacht Club Games’ 8-bit adventure has been an unmitigated smash hit, resulting in a shovelful of guest appearances and merchandise. The developer has now unveiled the newest addition to the collection of Shovel Knight merchandise: an Amiibo three-pack!
King Knight, Plague Knight and Specter Knight are the newest Amiibo to join the game’s titular hero. Each one grants a new skin, which provides only a cosmetic change. Additionally, they each can be used to unlock exclusive challenge modes and summon Fairy assistants, both of which were also features that the original Shovel Knight figure could unlock. The figures are compatible with all existing Nintendo versions of the game, including Switch, Wii U and 3DS.
There has been no release date info given at this time. Given that most of these Amiibo three-packs tend to retail around $35, fans should probably expect similar pricing. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
