Shinobi: Art of Vengeance was an excellent addition to the long-running franchise when it debuted last year. One of the promises to fans was that villains from other SEGA IPs would be making their way to the game for some special boss fights. The announced enemies were Dr. Eggman (Sonic the Hedgehog), Goro Majima (Yakuza), and Death Adder (Golden Axe). While that was all well and good, fans have been wondering when they’d get to slicing and dicing these foes, and thanks to a delightful new animation from SEGA, they have their answer. Give it a watch:
As the video shows, fans will be able to play the Villains DLC beginning April 3, 2026. The DLC will set you back $9.99, but if you’ve got the Digital Deluxe version of the game, there’s no additional charge. Beyond the Villains content, players will also be able to enjoy the free update which will be adding a new Hardcore Mode to Art of Vengeance.
