Video game leaker Midori took to Twitter to report some interesting news regarding Square Enix’s next few projects. One news item she reported was that Square Enix is working on a remake of Final Fantasy IX, which launched back in 2000 on the original Sony PlayStation. She also said that Square Enix has no plans to work on a remake of Final Fantasy X, which was released on PlayStation 2 in 2001.
Are there any remakes from Square Enix in the works?

Yes.
But there is not a FFX remake title in development.— みどり (@MbKKssTBhz5) May 21, 2024
But is the FF IX remake real, then?

With the reports coming in about Square Enix’s plans stating it wants the company’s games to be made multiplatform rather than console exclusive, things are getting pretty bright for Square Enix fans, and there’s also a high possibility that the remake of Final Fantasy IX could come to the so-called Switch 2.
