Nintendo 3DS Is Region Locked
An email from Nintendo of Japan has apparently revealed that the Nintendo 3DS is region specific. This means that you won’t be able to buy games from a different region and play them on your 3DS. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as the DSi systems are also region locked. Most gamers won’t care one way or another, but there are some that will be quite upset to hear this news.

3DS To Have No Holes In Release Schedule
Nintendo knows that in the past, there have been many game droughts on their systems. A big game would release, and then there would be a few months of almost no top notch games. With the 3DS, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata aims to fix that problem. Iwata said about the game drought, “We’re making plans so that this type of thing won’t happen.” That’s great to news for all Nintendo fans, but bad for our wallets. If you were thinking about getting that second job, you should probably go for it. If the 3DS has a constant stream of high quality games, you’ll need it.

I wish I was home for that event………
Oo! They’re coming to Denver. Hmmm…
I just know that there’s going to be some Japan-only 3DS game that I’ll just have to purchase, but this pretty much puts a damper on that. There’s no sense in paying $300 for a new system to play one extra game. :( Too bad– I imported some games throughout the DS’ life span.
