New Skylanders Giant is Revealed
If you’re a follower of the Skylanders series, then today’s a good for you. Nintendo Power has unveiled a new Skylanders: Giants character named Swarm, who, coincidentally enough, is a big ass bumble bee. The backstory on this dude goes a little something like this: a bee prince, who grew too large for his honeycomb kingdom, was forced to find refuge among the other Giants in order to save the world. I don’t know if that last part about saving the world is true, but I’m sure that’ll be the case. Anyway, Swarm’s reveal adds to the list of the three already established characters in the upcoming game which drops for Wii, Wii U, and 3DS later this year.
And if you couldn’t get enough of Skylanders news, then take note that the game, unsurprisingly, has received an ESRB rating of E10+ for cartoon violence. You know, instead of real violence. I think the series would be better if you placed your characters down on the Portal of Power and, instead of appearing on your screen, they appeared next to you in RL. Then they’d just like ravage through your house, tearing shit up, and killing stuff. That’d be cool. Anyway, so yeah – E for Everyone is the rating –you now know what you’re getting your little brother for his next birthday present.

Nintendo to Show off its 3DS XL at Comic-Con
Nintendo is set to put its latest 3DS iteration, the 3DS XL, on display at San Diego’s Comic-Con this weekend in order to show off the new hardware as well as games. Among the new titles are some of those announced or shown at E3, such as New Super Mario Bros. 2, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows – Mirrors of Fate and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (is it just me or does it seem like the subtitles for Luigi’s Mansion and Castlevania should be switched?). A full list of Nintendo’s Comic-Con lineup includes:
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate
HEROES OF RUIN
KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance]
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
Nintendo DS family
Aside from that, the Big N plans to show off Pokemon Conquest for DS, as well as Just Dance 4 and Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition for Wii. Interestingly enough, the Wii U will not be on parade.

Samus Stars in new Metroid Fan Trailer
And though it’s not necessarily endorsed officially by Nintendo, we here at Nintendojo believe you should feast your eyes on the latest Metroid fan trailer entitled, Encounter at Ceres Colony. It’s fantastic. “She’s a hotter, blonder version of Iron Man,” FTW.
