eShop gears up for new titles next week

Last month Nintendo confirmed that Sega Game Gear games would soon be available on 3DS’s eShop Virtual Console. Well, now that time has come! From March 15th, you’ll be able to download Sonic Triple Trouble, the original Shinobi (not to be confused with Shinobi already on 3DS) and Dragon Crystal.

Stop comparing Darksiders 2 to Zelda!

Upcoming Wii U launch title Darksiders 2 and its predecessor have been called many things in the past– “Zelda + God of War“, “Zelda in hell”, “akin to Zelda but way bloodier”… Destructoid’s Jim Sterling even went as far as to say Darksiders was “blatantly better than Zelda”. So… this dungeon-based game must really be like Zelda then, right?

Well, Joe Madureira, creative director of Darksiders 2, would rather you stopped all that Zelda comparison nonsense.

“I’ll be curious to see who we’re compared to this time, but the only game we want to be compared to is the original Darksiders,” Madureira told ONM in a recent interview. “We want people to say it’s like the first one but 10 times bigger and better.”

Darn, now I’m going to have to forget all those Zelda puns I had saved up for launch day…

Bow down before the Donkey Kong Beatboxer

And now for something a little different (hey, it’s a slow Nintendo news day!). Let your mind be rightfully blown by Hikakin’s spectacular beatboxing performance of Donkey Kong Country‘s main theme. Enjoy!

And just in case you haven’t filled your beatboxing quota for the day, you should also check out his rendition of the Mario theme and his rather amusing Ken Vs. Dhalism fight from Street Fighter (complete with shoryukens and yoga flames!).
