In case you missed it, Marvel and Limited Run Games are teaming to bring a collection to Nintendo Switch of some truly classic superhero games later this week on March 27, 2026. Dubbed Marvel MaXimum Collection, this compilation is bringing six Konami, Data East, and Software Creations games together. Here’s the trailer:
The six games are as follows:
- X-Men: The Arcade Game
- Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge
- Captain America and the Avengers
- Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage
- Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety
- Silver Surfer
Alongside the games will be the now standard array of upgrades and boosts that fans are accustomed to with these retro compilations, including:
- Rollback Netcode in X-Men: The Arcade Game
- Save Anywhere
- In-Game Rewind
- Museum
- Cheat Menus
If there’s one area of concern, it’s the bit in the PR for the collection that mentions “all new music from the legendary game composer Chris Huelsbeck.” While Huelsbeck is certainly no slouch, if the collection is missing the original soundtracks for some or all of the games, it’s going to be a major downgrade. Maximum Carnage and Silver Surfer, in particular, have some pretty legendary tunes that would be sorely missed if removed. We’ve reached out to Limited Run Games to inquire about this and will report back once/if we hear more.

Beyond the digital version of the game, fans can also look forward to a physical edition (it is LRG, after all). The Standard Edition of Marvel MaXimum Collection comes with a sticker sheet, a booklet, and a foil cover. You’ll have from March 27, 2026 until May 24, 2026 to get your pre-orders in.
