Did you know Tetris is 40? If you, like me, can remember playing Tetris on NES back in the day, then that’s… pretty hard to swallow! However, mid-life crises aside, it’s quite an impressive milestone. And across those four decades, there have been a number of different iterations of Tetris to enjoy. In an effort to honor the series, the masterminds at Digital Eclipse are bringing more than 15 Tetris games into a single package for fans to enjoy in Tetris Forever. Take a look:
Digital Eclipse says that Tetris Forever is part of its Gold Master Series, a line of interactive documentaries that include classic games. One of the best and brightest examples of the Gold Master Series is the Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. Tetris Forever promises a similar experience with multiple games, as well as archival materials, documentary footage, and more. Although we don’t know all of the games that will be in the collection, we do know that obscurities like Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss and Hatris will be included. Tetris Forever will launch later this year, so keep your eyes on Nintendojo and we’ll let you know more as we learn it.
