This fall, LEGO Dimensions will bring the company’s many popular licensed characters and toys to life as so many other games have done lately. The starter set includes Batman, Gandalf and Wild Style, but we now know a few more characters to expect.
The official LEGO website has revealed two different types of upcoming sets: Level Packs and Team Packs. Level Packs based on The Simpsons, Portal 2, Back to the Future and the Peter Capaldi iteration of Doctor Who are all on the way. Team Packs based on Scooby Doo and Jurassic World have also been confirmed. While we had a good indication that some of these characters were on the way, it’s exciting news, nonetheless! According to a story last week, toys-to-life have been the year’s biggest success story in terms of video game peripherals. Between Disney Infinity, Skylanders and Amiibo, the trend has become a massive hit with fans and collectors alike. While trends like these tend to get overextended fairly quickly, the popularity of the LEGO brand makes it seem very unlikely that fans will skip out on this title! Either way, it will be very interesting to see how the game performs!
