The Japanese box art for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers found its way out the Internet recently and were able to report the inclusion of an interesting mode called “Unleash! Ha-Do-Ken”, in which players could pull off the famous, titular move from a first-person perspective. Now, the latest Famitsu has confirmed this mode exists, along with quite a few additional details about the upcoming Switch fighter.
First, this new mode will feature more than just the Hadoken. Players will use several of Ryu’s other popular moves, such as Shoryukens and Tatsumaki Senpukyakus, to fight off enemies belonging to the evil Shadaloo organization. Those more interested in the more traditional aspects of Street Fighter will be pleased to know the core fighting experiences has a few new features as well. Though the article is relatively short on details, the game will include some sort of character progressions system in which character grow stronger by earning experience. Whether this system will be featured across the whole game or just one or a few modes remains to be seen. Also, players will be able to customize their characters with different colors, and these personalized characters can be taken online against opponents around the world.
Unfortunately, the article suggests the game is only about half-way done and mentions nothing about a solid release date, so we might still be waiting a while for the game to come out.
