Last week, CoroCoro magazine debuted the newest Pokémon, Magiana. Today, The Pokémon Company officially revealed the latest pocket monster, as well as the character’s name in the west. In North America and Europe, the new legendary Pokémon will go by the name Magearna.
At this time, little is known about Magearna. Created by humans 500 years ago, the Pokémon seems likely to be a Steel and Fairy type, based on appearance alone. It’s also unknown at what point we’ll see Magearna arrive. The character will appear in the upcoming movie “Volcanion and the Exquisite Magiana,” but, unlike Volcanion, it’s currently unknown which game the creature will debut in.
New information could be on the way soon. Junichi Masuda of Game Freak announced this weekend that he’ll be in attendance at this year’s E3. With 2016 being the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, many are expecting a new title to be announced for release this fall. Magearna could easily be the first Pokémon revealed for the long-rumored Pokémon Z, or perhaps a new generation entirely!
