In 2013, Warner Bros. and TT Games released Lego Marvel Super Heroes on Wii U. Boasting a playable roster composed of the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and nearly every other major Marvel property, the title debuted to very strong reviews. Today, the publisher and developer announced a sequel slated for later this year! We’ve mirrored the game’s teaser trailer below!
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is technically the third console Lego outing featuring Marvel characters. Just last year, Lego Marvel’s Avengers appeared on Wii U and 3DS, focusing on the Marvel Studios films. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, however, will once again feature an original storyline, based on the comic characters, rather than their film counterparts. The title’s main villain is Kang the Conqueror, a time traveler that has frequently plagued the Avengers. Time travel and alternate universes will apparently play a major role in the game, with characters such as Spider-Man 2099 and a cowboy version of Captain America confirmed as playable.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 will appear on Switch this November and a full-length trailer for the game will release May 23. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops!
