Kirby and the Forgotten Land is coming out in March, but considering it’s Kirby’s 30th anniversary, fans are undoubtedly wondering what else is in store for the pink puffball. Thankfully, while Nintendo has underwhelmed with some recent franchise anniversary festivities, we do at least know something is in the cards for Kirby this year. In its recent financial report, Nintendo had the following to say about what to expect:
This year also marks Kirby’s 30th anniversary. To celebrate that anniversary, we are planning a variety of projects in collaboration with the Kirby developer HAL Laboratory, aimed at sharing the charm of the Kirby series with many people.
Exciting news, indeed, but what exactly will these projects be? New games? A compilation of some sort? Commemorative slippers? That last guess would likely be coming to Japan and nowhere else, but the first two are certainly plausible possibilities. Hopefully we’ll find out soon, and once we do you all will be the first to know.
