Looks like we’re getting more “We got __ before GTA VI” comments, because Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed by Rockstar Games and is now set to come out on May 26, 2026. This announcement has had a massive impact on the gaming industry as a whole, as it’s one of the biggest upcoming titles with a lot of expectations riding on it. Although there have been no announcements or disclosed plans about GTA VI coming to Nintendo Switch 2, the chances of it happening are now possible given the console’s increased processing power. Fans speculate this delay could be in part to bring the game to Nintendo’s new console.

Rockstar Games initially withheld the release date of the highly anticipated successor to GTA V to build excitement and tension, so not only is this announcement disappointing, it’s also very anticlimactic. With rumors of pricing for the upcoming game being $100, the time it is taking to make the game, along with the massive success of GTA V,  consumer expectations have been set to an unprecedented level.
