This sucks. E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, for 2022 has been officially canceled. Word comes from IGN’s Rebekah Valentine who broke the news earlier today. Here’s her tweet:
Was able to independently confirm that E3 2022 is fully canceled now. Unsurprising given that they never actually confirmed they were doing a digital event in the first place and were so cagey when we asked them about it.https://t.co/DRHMhwfbyg

The possibility that E3 2022 would be outright canceled became a distinct possibility when word dropped in January of this year that the in-person version of the exposition would once again be axed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, at the time the ESA hadn’t said one way or the other if an all digital version of the show would happen as it did in 2021. Sadly, it appears there will be no form of E3 at all to partake in this year.
Is this it for E3? Hard to say, but in the interim give your thoughts down in the comments.
