Although Capcom just recently wrapped up porting over the entirety of the Ace Attorney series to Nintendo Switch with the release of Ace Attorney Investigations Collection (which we adored), that doesn’t mean the adventures of Phoenix Wright and friends has come to a close. Speaking in an interview with NetLab, Capcom’s Kenichi Hashimoto spoke about the series’ future. Ace Attorney continues to be a draw with fans across a wide spectrum of media, not just video games, and this seems to be where Capcom is hoping to focus its efforts moving forward:
“The Ace Attorney series won’t stop producing content. We definitely have a lot of directions we want to further grow in, including mixed media. There’s things we’d want to talk about when the time comes that we can reveal something, but for now I can’t say much.”
There have been the games, naturally, but Ace Attorney has also been adapted as a manga, anime, and TV series, and there have been numerous bits of merchandise produced over the years, as well. What form will Ace Attorney take when it resurfaces? Most fans would likely be just fine with a new game, but we’ll all have to wait and see what Capcom has in store for the franchise in the future.
