Since the game’s release back in 2013, Gunman Clive has been one of the most underrated gems of the Nintendo eShop. Developed by Bertil Hörberg, the title was an old-school platformer with a distinctive style. The game and its sequel have appeared on three Nintendo systems at this point, including Switch. While some fans would no doubt love to see another adventure for Clive and Ms. Johnson, Hörberg has finally unveiled the developer’s long teased follow-up: Mechstermination Force!
In the title, players take on gigantic mechanical bosses in platforming action stages. Described by Hörberg as a mix between Contra and Shadow of the Colossus, the title has a very unique visual style, which should come as little surprise for Clive fans.
While both Gunman Clive titles were solely developed by Hörberg (with his brother handling the game’s music), Mechstermination Force features a slightly bigger, three person development team this time around.
Further details are slim at this point, but we should know quite a bit more as the game’s spring release window approaches! What do you think of the title? Let us know in the comments below!
