Hey guys,
In regards to Cammie leaving I think that the face change does need to be hardcore. My reasoning for this is that 3DS in its early line up is clearly aimed at hardcore gamers as the blue ocean type bought their DS more recently and will take longer to upgrade if at all. The same thing will likely happen with the inevitable next gen system. Clearly, despite Noah’s feelings, Kevin Butler has been a massive marketing success. Much like Segata Sanshiro for Saturn in japan. Sadly the only region that console did well in. Nintendo needs something like that to capture gaming zeitgeist and capture the mind share of hardcore gamers to avoid the kind of disconnect that exits with the Wii. Unless they are happy with the Wii being the secondary console for their hardcore. Unfortunately I doubt Nester will cut it. Though a revival of Nester’s funky bowling on Wii could be a hit.
PS on a person note I always disliked Cammie as a spokesperson. I had been someone who owned all the systems but loved Cube the best got Wii day of after camping out for it. By the time Cammie showed up at E3 2008 her and that whole conference nearly killed Nintendo for me. Its only really been this year that I’ve started playing the Wii a lot more. So now ill personal feeling towards her but I could care less that she is going.
