It had been rumored, but now it’s confirmed that Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will be hitting Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the other versions of the game on February 27, 2026. The game was shown off during the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast. Take a look at the game, below:
This ninth installment of the series has a lot of hype behind it, with a promise of players being able to choose between first and third-person camera options, as well as (not for the first time) a renewed emphasis on scares with new antagonist Grace Ashcroft in the lead. Requiem wants to really put the survival back into survival horror with this game. Here’s a bit more about what to expect from Requiem:

Confront fear like you’ve never experienced in the ninth entry in the chilling Resident Evil series. Return to a ruined, abandoned Raccoon City in a thrilling survival horror experience that features the series’ trademark combat, investigations, puzzles, and resource management. Freely choose between first and third-person views to face the terror in a way that suits your playstyle.
You might have also noticed at the end of the trailer that Capcom is bringing a pair of Resident Evil games to Switch 2 alongside Requiem. That’s right, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village will be getting a simultaneous launch on 02.27.26. For real this time; most fans weren’t thrilled at the cloud versions of the game that were offered on Nintendo Switch, so this should serve as a nice olive branch to those who wanted a native copy of these games.
