Skipmore, the developer of the puzzle-RPG series of Fairune games currently available on 3DS eShop, has announced its first crack at developing for Switch. Kamiko, like the developer’s other work, features retro-inspired pixel graphics, but adopts more of an action-oriented take on gameplay.
Players will battle across numerous stages that end in boss fights with one of three playable characters, each with a unique weapon and elemental connection. Yamato is a sword wielder from the Water Shrine, Uzume comes from the Earth Shrine and fights with a bow, and Hinome uses a shield that doubles as a boomerang-like thrown weapon and she hails from the Fire Shrine.
Nothing has been said yet regarding Kamiko being released outside of Japan, but considering the fact both Fairune and its sequel did, the chances are probably relatively good that it will too. Of course, Switch isn’t region-locked, so if the game never comes to your market, or if you just don’t feel like waiting, Kamiko will be available on the Japanese eShop next month for 500 yen.
