Nintendo has recently announced plans to incorporate Amiibo in a very simple, yet limited display. With a new (and also free) downloadable title called Amiibo Tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits in Japan and the US, and Amiibo Touch & Play: Nintendo Classics Highlights in the UK, players will be able to see three-minute highlights of classic Nintendo titles. It should be noted that the game you get to try out may be entirely random and have little to no relation to the Amiibo placed on the GamePad.
Amiibo Tap launched in Japan today, April 23, 2015, with 30 games from both the NES and SNES libraries. The title will be available for download in North America and Europe on April 30. A list of games and the respective Amiibo Tap Japanese trailer are below:
