This Thursday, the latest DLC update for Mario Kart 8 will release on the Nintendo eShop. While that’s certainly exciting enough news by itself, it won’t be the only Kart related release in Europe, this week!
This morning, Nintendo of Europe officially announced that the Game Boy Advance title Mario Kart: Super Circuit is set to arrive on the Wii U Virtual Console, as well. It’s a smart bit of intentional cross-promotion on NOE’s part. The tweet announcing the release also mentioned the fact that Cheese Land and Ribbon Road, two of Mario Kart 8‘s upcoming “new” tracks, originally debuted in the GBA title. Fans looking to see how the tracks stack up side-by-side can now play them on the same console. It’s not a bad sales pitch!
Of course, early Nintendo 3DS ambassadors have been able to revisit Super Circuit for a few years now, but this is the first time the game has actually been available for purchase in quite some time. Do you plan on downloading it when it becomes available? As always, let us know in the comments below!
