Having previously worked on The Count Lucanor, indie developer Baroque Decay has some experience in creating unique adventures tinged with horror. Now, the team has announced their next game, and it looks like they are once again experimenting with a lot of ideas in terms of gameplay, setting, and story.
Yuppie Psycho is another horror/adventure game, but it moves the action to a ’90s office building. Players assume the role of a young new hire at Sintracorp, the world’s biggest corporation; however, in addition to his work, the new hire has also been tasked by mysterious forces to investigate the evil witchcraft allegedly at the core of the company’s success. The trailer shows off the game’s visual design which features retro-styled gameplay and anime influenced cutscenes. The developers have also cited film makers like David Cronenberg and David Lynch as inspirations as well as games like the Silent Hill franchise and Deadly Premonition.
Unfortunately, a release date has yet to be announced, but the concept and trailer will probably be enough to make at least a few gamers interested.
