Jon “JonTron” Jafari is a popular YouTube personality who was set to have his voice used in upcoming throwback platformer Yooka-Laylee. “Was” being the operative word here, as that will no longer be the case; developer Playtonic has removed JonTron’s voice entirely. The reason being JonTron’s recent Twitter rant in regards to an immigration statement made by Iowa Representative Steve King.
We won’t repeat JonTron’s words here, but suffice to say they have been very polarizing, with Playtonic apparently coming down on the side of those who find the YouTuber’s opinion unacceptable. You can read more about his thoughts here, if you’d like.
