There’s no denying that My Nintendo is a significant downgrade compared to Club Nintendo. With a lot of (mostly) trivial digital discounts on offer as rewards to fans who loyally buy games on their Nintendo consoles, the My Nintendo service has been something of a dud since its inception. Thankfully, Nintendo is stepping in to add some serious value to the program:
A #MyNintendo update in early March will let you redeem Gold Points for select digital games and DLC for #NintendoSwitch!https://t.co/L6lqeDuTUa pic.twitter.com/76PUd7nPOi

That’s right, come early March, fans will be able to use their Gold Points to buy from a range of digital-only games in the Switch eShop! Here’s Nintendo’s breakdown of how it will go:
• Buy a qualifying digital game for Nintendo Switch, Wii U™, or Nintendo 3DS™ family systems or a physical game for the Nintendo Switch system.
• Earn Gold Points worth 5% of the amount you pay, not including any points or discounts used*.
• You can then redeem those points on your next eligible digital purchase (including games and DLC) for the Nintendo Switch system from Nintendo eShop or Nintendo.com.
Will you be using your Gold Coins to buy games? When’s the last time you even logged into your My Nintendo account? Share with us in the comments and on social media!
