Yooka-Laylee will finally be available on Switch next week and developer Playtonic has now announced how much fans in Europe will be able to pick it up for.

The retro-inspired platformer can be purchased for £34.99/€39.99, which works out as just over $45.99.

While the US price has yet to be announced, this is similar to how much digital copies of the game currently cost. Of course, the game has now been available on other platforms since April 2017 and it is entirely possible to get a physical copy of the game for far less than $39.99.

While Yooka-Laylee will only be available on Switch via the eShop, digital copies of the game have also been heavily discounted in recent months — going as low as $15 in some instances.

The spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie series was hotly anticipated by fans, but the reception at launch was somewhat mixed, with the Metacritic for the game currently ranging betweem 68 and 73 depending on the platform. Of course, we will soon find out whether the few extra months of testing on Switch has helped smooth over some of the issues that were highlighted by critics at launch.

Yooka-Laylee will be available from the eShop from December 14.
