Level-5’s ghost capturing adventure, Yo-kai Watch, may not have been released in the west yet, but Japan will already be receiving Yo-kai Watch 2 this summer, the publisher announced in the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine.
Unlike its predecessor, Yo-kai Watch 2 will be released in two versions, Founder and Head, which will be available in the region on July 10. The games will also come in special limited editions, which will feature a unique medal that can’t be obtained otherwise. This time around, players will travel back in time to learn the origins of the eponymous Yo-kai Watch that allows protagonist Keita to communicate with spirits.
The first Yo-kai Watch was an immediate success in Japan, selling over 400,000 copies since its debut. The game has yet to be announced for other territories, but Level-5 is currently gauging interest in a western localization.
