We. The Revolution has been making waves since its launch on PC back in March. The game is a fascinating mix of strategy and visual novels that takes place during the French Revolution in the late 1700s. The title has been getting a tweak to its UI for consoles in the months since, but developer Polyslash is close to releasing We. The Revolution into the wild. Very close, actually: it launches on June 25! Give the trailer some love, below:
Players are cast as a judge on the Revolutionary Tribunal who must preside over cases and render verdicts. In order to proceed through the game, the player must investigate evidence to reveal questions to ask during trial in order to fully reveal the events behind what happened and then determine innocence or guilt. It’s reminiscent of Phoenix Wright, but with the caveat that every ruling has a political bent which can incur the wrath of one side or the other in the revolution— wrath that could ultimately lead to the judge’s swift death.
There’s a lot more to We. The Revolution which we’ll be getting to in our upcoming hands-on preview. Until then, what do you think so far of the game? Share with us in the comments and on social media!
