Take a brief look at a screenshot from the recently announced Viviette and you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a Japanese RPG for the Super Nintendo. While the visuals are definitely reminiscent of many old classics, the game is actually a survival horror adventure, and it’s coming to Switch.
Developed by DYA Games, Viviette uses 16-bit graphics to render Neuville Mansion, a classically creepy horror setting your character must explore in order to uncover the mysterious secrets somehow tied to your character’s past. Discovering the narrative involves more than just digging around in the dark for clues, as there are puzzles to solve and at least one creature roaming the halls that wants to plunge a knife into your face, so you’ll need to run and hide as well. Check out the trailer below for a taste of what to expect.
If this concept has caught your interest then there’s more good news because you won’t have to wait long to download it. Viviette will sell for $9.99 when it releases on eShop on December 20.
